Kindergarten, Primary & Secondary School for Special Needs Education
The design for Campus De Varens is driven by the ambition to create an integrated and future-oriented learning environment for pupils in special education. The campus is conceived as a micro-village for children and young people, in which different educational levels and learning units function as individual Houses that together form a cohesive whole. These Houses are grouped around shared green meeting spaces, or Courtyards, which stimulate social interaction among the pupils.
The central Learning Street forms the backbone of the project. Unlike a traditional corridor, it fulfils an educational role: it connects classrooms, showcases daily classroom life, and offers places where pupils can discover each other’s learning worlds.
