ZAC Paris Rive Gauche
The building is part of the ZAC Paris Rive Gauche and more specifically of the district Tolbiac-Chevaleret. This zone has the ambition to cover the railway that lead to the Austerlitz station and to connect two adjacent districts. A new promenade is also developed, following the tracks. The T7B2 lot is located along the Avenue de France, the new promenade and a new square. The site is only a few meter away of the François Mitterand Library. The projects needs to offer an response to this context by focusing on the large scale. We designed two big volumes which are disassembled. The first two floors are the commercial base of the building. From the third level, the building is divided into two volumes: one of ten floors for housing and one of six floors of housing and one floor with a nursery. By enlarging and sculpuring the space between these two volumes, interesting views from and to the inner area are created.
