Brussels Canal

The waterfront is made accessible in order to optimize the contact with the water. Therefore, the roof and canalwall of the Senne-river are demolised, creating a wide "promenade" with up- and down-folding straps limiting the 2 levels in a playfull way. The revaluation of the existing gates (‘porte de Ninove’, ‘porte de Flandres’,...) improves the relation between the two banks. The‘porte the Ninove’becomes a pivotal point for the southern canal zone, that has the potential to become an important pole of development of the capital.
